Jean Elise Ortman

ORTMAN — Jean Elise (Madero), 90; born Nov. 16, 1924, San Diego, Calif.; died Sept. 10, 2015, Portland, Ore. Surviving: son, Ralph William Ortman, Sandy, Ore.; daughter, Linda Dianne (Ortman) Haas, Tenmile, Ore.; Idelsi Marie Ortman; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

In the 60's, Jean worked as the chef for San Diego Academy. She worked  with E. Cajon Pathfinders as a councelor, first aid instructor, crafts, and cooking on campouts from 1954 to 1972. She was a Master Guide. In 1972, she moved to Glendale, Ore. She helped in the church as Kindergarden, Junior and Primary teacher.

In 1990, she moved to Roseburg, Ore. She taught Spanish for the Roseburg Jr. Academy for 15 years as a volunteer. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon William, and her son, Laurence Vernon, and his son, Eric William Ortman.
